FoodCycles is offering a 9 month, full time Greenhouse Operations and Sales Coordinator position.

Dr. Wayne Roberts spoke on food policy and a new vision for cities at Toledo Library in the US. As always his witty humour is always a hit. The photos he uses in the presentation are also quite insightful. Dr. Roberts also proposes hopeful solutions and answers to fixing cities and the food system. If you want the quick written summary you can read it below.

Are you ready for a real farm experience? Become an organic
farm apprentice this summer. Our website provides convenient
“one stop shopping” for people who are looking for a farm
apprenticeship that meets their learning needs.

We are seeking individuals who have a keen desire to learn about growing food organically by doing, who are interested in building
friendships and community, who are enthusiastic, curious and
open to new ideas. We expect hard work, commitment to the
vision of the CSA, and the ability to work as part of a larger team.
The CSA garden team is made up of five interns and three CSA
farmers (Heather Lekx, Donald Bowyer, and Carl Leslie), and
volunteers. We will be working closely together over the season
and aim to make this a healthy and challenging experience.

The internship position is designed for a person with
limited farm experience who wants to develop the skills
and attitudes required to launch a CSA of their own. The
internship might also be suitable for people who want test
the waters and experience what farming is all about, but
are not sure if they want to be a farmer.

In addition to introducing participants to the valuable *Small Farm Planner*workbook, the workshop will also include a presentation by new
farmer Angie Koch describing her first year of running a 2-acre market garden; a discussion on small farm regulations by experienced farmer Ann Slater; and an introduction to the programs and services that OMAFRA has available for new farmers.

Do you want to learn to grow your own food, or take a step towards becoming a farmer? The Cutting Veg organic farm offers season long part-time farming interships, in which you can immerse yourself in the world of organic agriculture.
